Blueprint for the Future -
It's not about a new building; it's about building community

Phase I
Phase One, a 29,000 square foot expansion to the west toward Jefferson Avenue,
will include offices for not only the administrative staff but also the Center's WorkOne
Express Center, general social services, Financial Foundations, Children & Youth and
Continuum of Care Housing Programs. As a result, these co-located services will
bring together a powerful combination of organizations to better serve the community.

Phase II
Phase Two will include the demolition of the Career Corner building and a 5,000 square foot
addition which will serve as a community room. This space will be utilized for on-site educational
and recreational activities for neighborhood children and youth. In addition, this space will be
available to host larger community gatherings for not only the Center, but also for
neighborhood associations and other groups.

Phase III
Phase Three, the renovation of the Brookside Building, will include the expansion of the
Center’s Elder Alternative Adult Day Service program to provide services for up to 45 participants
each day. In addition, the expanded Senior Center will be equipped with a state of the art
computer lab and will teach basic computer skills which will enable senior citizens to keep
in touch with loved ones via e-mail.

The final portion of phase three will include a complete renovation of the Brookside Building’s
24 apartment units, ten of which will be utilized by Midtown Community Mental Health
as transitional housing for homeless individuals. Another ten units will be designated
to serve participants from Our Town, a program of the Marion County
Mental Health Association that serves young adults who are mentally ill.
