The Boner Center's Children and Youth Program offers grade school students the opportunity to learn in a safe and enriching environment.

 

Eastside Scholars
Free on-site tutoring services for students who attend H.L. Harshman School, IPS #101, Thomas Gregg Elementary, IPS # 15, and Brookside Elementary, IPS #54. Tutoring sessions are offered to students on an as-needed individual basis as well as small group sessions and focus on subjects such as reading and math. Students are provided with a safe, secure, and fun learning environment in which they can not only develop life skills, but also an interest in learning.

Community School Program at Washington Irving Elementary School, IPS #14
The partnership between the Boner Center and Washington Irving Elementary School, IPS #14, offers a range of support and opportunities to strengthen students and families before, during and after school. This program works to help students learn and achieve high standards; prepare students for adult roles in the workplace; provides parents and community members become more involved with the school and their own life-long learning towards Family Economic Success (FES).

Parents as Teachers
Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a parent involvement and school readiness program and offers home-based early childhood education for children ages three to five. This program enables parents to become their child's first teacher. Parents are provided with a set of carefully developed materials, curriculum and books designed to strengthen their children's cognitive skills, early literacy skills, social/emotional and physical development.
