Transitional Living Program
With the focus to provide the tools necessary for the young people in the program to move from homelessness to having appropriate living arrangements with an increased knowledge of community resources, experiences in community services, education, training, and employment; All of which will help young indviduals to be self-sufficient. Services are highly individualized and include a case manager to help each youth create an individual transitional plan based on an assessment of their needs. This plan is designed to help the transition from supervised to independent living.
Emergency
Shelter
Stopover provides short-term housing to youth ages 13 to 17.
Temporary separation allows the young adult the chance to assess his or
her situation and evaluate alternatives. During their stay, the adolescent
is encouraged to continue to attend school. Youth will meet with a counselor
individually as well as with his or her family several times a week. Counseling
services are provided after the young adult has returned home.
Counseling
Stopover provides home-based counseling services for youth ages 11 to
17 and their families.
Non-residential counseling addresses pre-adolescent issues that interfere
with the positive emotional growth of the young adult. Home-based counseling
is provided on a weekly basis for 6 to 8 weeks. The counselor will meet
with the young adult as well as their parents and other family members.
Crisis Hotline
Stopover provides a crisis hotline open 24/7. To speak with a

Nonresidential Counseling
Stopover provides home-based counseling services for youth ages 11 to 17 and their families.
Non-residential counseling addresses adolescent issues that interfere with the positive development of the young person. Home-based counseling is provided on a weekly basis for up to 6 to 8 weeks.
Prevention of Family Violence Project
This program combines community education, emergency shelter and advocacy for youth at risk of being victims, witnesses or perpetrators of family violence. Stopover also works with high schools to increase awareness of these issues.
Summer Enrichment Program
This program is an exploration of the world of work and post-secondary education for youth involved in Stopover’s crisis intervention programs. The program includes visits to businesses, local and regional colleges and university campuses.
